Dinky Dock Park is in a delightful little spot on the shore of Lake Virginia bordering Rollins College. The huge oak trees hung with Spanish moss provide shade for the sandy beach where kids like to wade in the water. It's a magical scene. The water and beach are grubby like lakes are, but it's still a ton of fun for kids. People eat their lunch at the picnic tables overlooking the beach and guys doing water sports use the free docks. Jet-skiers wizz by. You can also see the scenic boat tour that leaves from Morse Blvd glide by. Keep your eye out for pretty birds that like to perch on the docks and the nearby boardwalk that leads to Cornell Art Museum at Rollins College.
If you're hungry, walk to the cafeteria at Rollins College, not far from here, or to Park Ave where there are plenty of sidewalk cafes.
