Description
On the coastal drive up to Lai'e, just before you reach the bend to mysterious olive-green Kahana Bay, there is a dark wooden inn perched on a hill, where you can eat dinner on a balcony lit with tiki torches. It's a special atmosphere, created by the area, which is secluded and rich in a dark, shadowy beauty. The mountains loom above, the moon shines a faded white light onto the bay, and you enjoy your steak dinner for two!
Crouching Lion Inn was built in 1927 and named after the rock perched above it that looks like a stately lion resting on his stomach and forearms. If standing in the parking lot, look above and to the left of the inn to see the lion on the ridge.
Prices are high, but it's worth it because you feel like you're really away-from-it-all in a unique place.
