Description
Toro Canyon Park is a secluded quiet place tucked into a rugged canyon where you could hold a huge picnic or wedding. Here, there are three areas that you can reserve, each with many picnic tables and BBQs. There is a nice toddler playground near Area Three, and a slightly run-down playground with slide between Areas Two and Three.
There is a short trail near Area Two that leads up to an overlook gazebo.
The drive up to the park has some amazing panoramic views of the ocean, Montecito, and the mountains.
If you're hungry, head west on Via Real to Summerland town. It is a charming town where you will find cafes and shops set in Victorian houses along the road. I recommend Luna Cafe. Summerland Beach is a lovely place for a long walk.
Also nearby is Santa Claus Lane Beach, the best place for a swim in Santa Barbara. It is an absolutely gorgeous beach with clean sand, clear water, and mountain views. You can eat here at Padaro Grill.

From Highway 101, take the Padaro Lane exit and turn towards the mountains. Go right on Via Real then left up Toro Canyon Road for about 3 miles. There will be a large park sign and then you turn right. This is the road with the amazing views. The park entrance is on your left about a mile up the road.
There are restrooms here.
