Description
Toro Canyon Park is a wilderness area tucked into a rugged canyon where you could hold a huge picnic or wedding. There are three areas that you can reserve, each with many picnic tables and BBQs, and restrooms. There is a shady, newer toddler playground near Area Three, and a slightly run-down playground with slide between Areas Two and Three.
A short trail near Area Two leads up to an overlook gazebo.
The drive to the park is the best part, offering panoramic views of the shimmering blue sea.
If you're hungry, head west to charming Summerland town, with cafes and shops set in Victorian houses. Luna Cafe is my favorite. Afterward, take a stroll on Summerland Beach.
Also nearby, to the east, is Santa Claus Lane Beach, with clean sand, clear cold water, and stunning mountain views. You can eat here at scenic Padaro Beach Grill, which is an awesome choice if you have kids because of their huge sand pit that lets you eat in peace!
