Cocoa Village

Cocoa Village is a cute historic area with sidewalk cafes and a waterfront park. You would never find it without knowing about it, because it's in the middle of an awful industrial area that looks like nothing nice could come out of it. Once you turn onto Brevard Ave, you are transported to a colorful street with pretty architecture from the 1920s. Bicyclists and families come here on Sunday mornings to sit at the sidewalk cafes and enjoy the sunshine. Ossorio Cafe has a lovely outdoor seating area right in the center of the historic buildings by the Cocoa Village Playhouse. You can sit by the flower boxes and enjoy a baked item. There are plenty of choices for places to eat- Ryan's Village Pizza, Village Ice cream, Dog and Bone British Pub, and El Bodegon Tapas in a gorgeous historical building. Harrison Street has a slight rise and twists to the side, which makes it nice in otherwise flat Florida. After shopping or eating, stroll down Harrison Street to the Riverfront Park, where there is a slightly grubby playground and a very fun splash pad for kids to leap around in the chlorinated water. The river here looks pretty grody, but it's nice nonetheless to enjoy the cool breezes off the water. You can walk along the river for a little while, stopping in the gazebos to look at the bridge.

From Highway 95, take exit 201 toward Cocoa Beach and head east on Highway 520/ King St. After four miles, turn right on Brevard Ave and park along the road.
