Old Town Calabasas is a small but charming area right where people get off the freeway into Calabasas. There is some freeway noise but it's still a nice spot. Flower baskets are everywhere- what a delight. There is a dry little park, Calabasas Creek Park, with a few statues and some picnic tables by the creek. Kids like to watch the ducks here. Sagebrush Cantina has a 1/3 sized model train out front (from the 1940 New York World's Fair) next to giant-sized traffic lights- also fun for kids. The Leonis Adobe house is nice to stroll past. If it's open you can go in for a tour and see the cows and goats. Kids love this. If it's closed, admire the windmill, flowers, and animals from afar. There are a few shops and cafes, such as Pedalers Fork and The Six Restaurant, along this shady stretch of Calabasas Rd.
Afterward, enjoy a blissful time having a meal at Calabasas Commons. Then walk around and check out the many sculptures, flowers, bridges, and waterfalls.
