Eastgate Crossing Plaza, Chapel Hill

Eastgate Crossing is a modern shopping plaza with flower pots and some nice stores and restaurants. The liveliest is Kipos Greek Taverna, where you can enjoy a meal at their colorful outdoor seating. What a pleasant spot!

A Trader Joe's and a Whole Foods (up the stairs behind Babalu) make this a handy spot for healthy groceries.
For yummy baked goods and bread, check out Guglhupf Bake Shop. What a great name! We enjoy their poppy seed rolls, berliner pastries, brezel soft pretzel rolls, and best of all, their banana chocolate chip muffins. There is a little indoor and some outdoor seating with shade umbrellas and flower pots.
There is a Clean Juice Bar, Twisted Noodles (Thai food), Chopt (counter-service salads), Zoe's Kitchen (Mediterranean), Chipotle, and The Loop Pizza Grill. It's fun to browse the Hallmark store.
Go up the stairs behind Kipos Greek Taverna and you'll find a Staples, Whole Foods, and a cafe with healthy bowls called Cava. Around the tall apartment building, Berkshire, past Osteria Georgi (Italian) and The Casual Pint, is Alpaca Peruvian Charcoal Chicken.
From Eastgate Crossing Plaza near Starbucks, walk across Franklin Street and go for a stroll on the shady one-mile Lower Booker Creek bike path.
