Police Beach is a fun beach to explore. There are some tide pools that are nice for kids. If you walk west down the beach you can explore more and more tide pools. They are always changing but last time I was there they were raised up way above the sand and you could see the rock spires that are usually underwater. These are the type of spires that injure surfers at Pipeline Beach and make it such a scary place to be pummeled. The last time I was at Police Beach I could hear water washing into these head-high rocks and gurgling around. It was great!
Keep walking about a 1/4 mile down the beach and you will come to an area that is fenced off with orange plastic fencing. This is the campground in the TV show "Lost". If you continue you can see a makeshift dwelling that looks like the church they were building in Season 3 of Lost. Very exciting!

North Shore in this area is gorgeous - very quiet, chill, and calm. If you ever get a chance to get there, make sure to check out this beach - it's a public beach even though it's amongtst houses, and is about the prettiest beach I've ever been to.
