Charles H. Morse Park is a delightful find! It offers a lovely little path that takes you under flower-covered archways to the back of Casa Feliz historic mansion. The brick mansion, built by James Gamble Rogers II in Spanish farmhouse style, is so cute with its sky blue window trim and shutters. Two gorgeous blue agave plants add to the scene, as do bamboo plants that stretch to the sky. Continue under the archway of Casa Feliz to the front of the house, walking the winding path past more flowers. You come to some modern townhouses built in Colonial style. Cross the street diagonally and check out the peaceful pineapple fountain with a strand of golf course trees in the distance. What a lovely sight! It feels like you're in Charleston!
This neighborhood is filled with mansions with pretty gates, flower beds, and long driveways. Continue your walk by strolling along Interlachen Ave, checking out the houses.
Or stroll south for six minutes on Park Ave and get a French pastry and coffee at one of the bakeries.
Or walk north seventeen minutes to Kraft Azalea Park, checking out the lovely sights on the way. Once at the park you'll see incredible tall trees with Spanish moss. On the way, check out Kiwi Circle, a culdesac on Lake Osceola with handsome mansions. You will also walk over a white bridge over the canal that connects Lake Osceola with Lake Maitland (the lake that Kraft Azalea Park is on). On the south side of the bridge (on Palmer Ave) look down past bougainvillea at the narrow canal below.
Charles H. Morse Park is located at 647 N. Interlachen Ave in Winter Park. There is a small parking lot, and a pathway leading to the back of Casa Feliz.
