Maitland Community Park

Maitland Community Park has an abundance of incredible tall trees of all different types and colors. What a joy it is to run or walk the trails here under thick shade. There are tennis courts surrounded by nature, plus racquetball, volleyball and basketball courts. Exercise stations are situated along the main trail.

Under plenty of shade, there's a large playground with all kinds of fun climbing to be had! There is rock climbing, bridges, a tunnel slide, a double slide, a roller slide (it's fast!), spinners (they make you dizzy!), a tunnel twisty slide, and a row of swings. Look for the gopher tortoises that walk around in their prehistoric pace.
Maitland Community Park has some bugs and mosquitoes so if you're the kind of person who gets bitten it's probably best to visit on cold or windy days.
This park is in a development of large beautiful homes. As you drive or walk along Mayo Ave toward the fancy park entrance gate, you go under a canopy of trees. Walk the neighborhood to extend your exercise and check out the pretty streets such as Indian Dance Ct. Some of the homes are on Lake Minnehaha, such as those on Fairoaks Ln.
Another park in Maitland with a great feeling is Minnehaha Park, with a fenced playground and a boardwalk, which is a twenty minute walk from Maitland Community Park.
