Bethesda by the Sea is a gothic church that was built in 1925. It is a lovely structure, with its symmetrical hallway outside, and its dark interior with brilliant stained glass windows and lanterns. Walk outside to enjoy the gardens as they unfold before you. The first courtyard leads into an area with a lily pond and a little corner with a wall fresco and pink hibiscus bush. The garden is framed with sculpted coral walls. A rivulet leads from a fountain to a rectangular pond filled with golden koi. In the corner is a little pointed dark wooden gazebo. What a delightful place! Bring your child here and his/her imagination will soar!
After, if you are dressed well, have a coffee at The Breakers Hotel, one of Henry Flagler's triumphant hotels.
To see more gardens, and some lovely mansions, walk the side streets nearby.
Bethesda by the Sea Church is located at 141 S. County Rd, Palm Beach 33480, call (561) 655-4554.
