It's wonderful to come to Sawfish Bay Park two to three hours before high tide when the water is crystal clear! There's a walkway along the intracoastal, plus a dock, and you can stand and look down at the water, mesmerized by how clear it is! Lots of wildlife come by this spot! When I was there for just 20 minutes I saw a baby turtle pop it's head up, a manatee float by, pelicans bob in the water by the dock, an osprey high atop a tree, and best of all, a giant spotted sting ray swim by! What a delight!

This park is small (the walk is only 1000ft) but you can walk to the north end where there is a picnic table by the bridge, and walk to the south end where there are gazebos. Enjoy the views of Jupiter Lighthouse, and the cool breeze off the water. There is a bright yellow historic depot near the road.
You can hear cars on A1A but this park is still worth a visit before high tide.
After, have a cup of tea at Lokomotive (3 mins drive), an unusual coffee shop with a huge, highly-decorated space that used to be a supermarket. Here you will find all manner of artwork, local jewelry, plus good tea, coffee, and pastries. You can find a quiet nook away from people and relax.
You can also have a coffee at Starbucks nearby (6 mins drive), at 287 E. Indiantown Rd, sitting by the green skinny palm trees, or a juicer at Modern Juice next to it. Modern Juice has local paintings- the ones by Sarah LaPierre are a joy.
Tequesta town is only four minutes away, and you can check out the modern Lighthouse ArtCenter Gallery there.

Directions

Sawfish Bay Park is located along Highway A1A. It isn't really possible to walk there since it's on a busy road. And if you come from the north (Tequesta), you must do a U-turn to get into the parking lot. There is plenty of free parking, and restrooms.
