Penasquitos Creek Park trail, Rancho Penasquitos

Penasquitos Creek Park offers a pretty hike through wide open spaces, past rolling hills, and along a creek. People park at the entrance, just to sit by nature. The hike takes you on a trail past large houses and then into some forested areas by the creek. In springtime, it is blessed with abundant yellow flowers. The hike connects with other hikes so you can walk a long time, and even visit a waterfall if it has rained. There is very little shade so come in winter, or early or late in the day. 
The hiking trail is on the other side of the road from the park, which has a large lawn, playground, and basketball court.

Directions

Penasquitos Creek Park is located at 11900 Camino Del Sur, Rancho Penasquitos. There is diagonal parking along Camino Del Sur. The hiking path starts near the top of the sloped street, so don't park at the very end!
