Cambria Pines Lodge really lights up at Christmastime! Reserve your tickets online and then catch a free shuttle bus from Burton Dr in Cambria town, and you can be part of the action. There is a Christmas Market with hot chocolate, hot cider, pretzels, German chocolate cake and other treats and gifts. But the main attraction are the millions of lights that light up the sprawling grounds of the lodge. Each section of lights has a different theme. It takes about an hour to walk the whole garden. Bring a jacket and scarf- it's cold! It's crowded, so come early, around 5pm, on a weekday, and be prepared for lots of people.
Some things we saw were: Santa's sleigh, tunnels of lights, candy canes, spiral lollipops, gingerbread men, whale's tale, 12 days of Christmas, snowflakes, snowmen, nativity with star of Bethlehem, giant ornaments, elephants on parade, swans, umbrellas overhead, flamingo over litup stream, fairies and mushrooms and a crescent moon (a magical spot), the Grinch, gingerbread house, Golden Gate Bridge, aliens and UFO.
I can't imagine how long it must take to put up all these lights, but it's pretty incredible!
Reserve your tickets online- about $35 per person, depending on the day. Then you catch a free shuttle to the lodge from around 4059 Burton Dr in Cambria town. You cannot park at the lodge for this event.
