You can take a very long walk on Jupiter Island past mansions, coconut trees, Norfolk pines, ironwood trees, banyan trees, tropical flowers, and elegant flower beds! There is lots of shade in the morning.

Park for free at Hobe Sound Beach parking lot, and walk south along South Beach Road. You can also walk south on Gomez Rd but South Beach Rd has the ocean breeze and less cars, though still plenty of them. This busy part of the walk only lasts for half a mile until you come to beautiful Christ Chapel. Check out its gorgeous star-studded door, lantern, and Spanish tower. Walk the little path in front of the chapel and take a while to walk the little path on the side of the chapel just for fun. Cross Gomez Rd and continue walking along Delespine Trail or Palmetto Trail (which is a shadier option). Continue left on Links Road, walking this quiet road along the golf course, with great views. There is a lake, a variety of wonderful trees, many coconut trees, and ironwood trees, plus a gorgeous breeze. Once you reach Jupiter Island Club, check out the banyan tree at its roundabout, its golf shop and tennis shop, and the little white bench over the water. Listen to people happily playing tennis and lawn bowling. Continue straight, past the marina to The Ramble, a 500 meter pedestrian-only street, River Road. Listen to the water lapping the rocks, the swish of coconut trees above, and delight in the landscaping all around you. At the south end of the road, go over the red bridge to explore the dirt paths on Harbor Island, or continue on River Road which becomes Grenville Rd and then walk south on Gomez Rd, which has a sidewalk at this point. When you get to the corner of Grenville Rd and Gomez Rd, you have walked 1.6 miles. The first half-mile is on a busy road with no sidewalks but the rest of the walk is peaceful.
If you want to walk more, continue south on Gomez Rd on the sidewalk. After 1km, Gomez Rd meets South Beach Rd and there is a sidewalk there too. The sidewalk continues for another 6 miles, past mansions and wonderful gardens, to the southern tip of Jupiter Island.
On the south end of Jupiter Island you will find Coral Cove Beach ParkCoral Cove Intracoastal Beach, and Catos Bridge.
If you walk back to Hobe Sound Beach Park, drive to Hobe Sound town to rest a while in the AC at Hobe Sound Social and Coffee. It has a great atmosphere.
Other nice streets to walk are Bassett Creek Trail and Bassett Creek Trail North, two dead-end roads with mansions, lined with trees that remind me of France. These roads are shady in the morning, though there are no sidewalks. There is a pretty lake in between them. They are accessed via Gomez Rd, near Bridge Rd. On Bridge Rd you can enjoy the Banyan Tree Walk.
