Bridalveil Falls is lovely as it drops elegantly from atop a sheer cliff. In spring it can blow much mist on you, but in summer it can be just a fine veil of water, blown side to side in the wind like a real wedding veil. The walk is paved, slightly uphill, easy and short. It only takes a few minutes to reach the end, where you stand beside huge boulders and look up at the falls. You don't really feel close enough to the falls, which makes some people climb up on the boulders, but that looks pretty dangerous.
Continue on to Yosemite Valley after, and check out the stunning rock formations above you. In the heat of the day, enjoy the excellent exhibits in the air-conditioned Yosemite Valley Visitor Center. Take a stroll in the meadow and enjoy a drink on the patio at the stunning Majestic Yosemite Hotel. Drive to Glacier Point for a glorious view of the entire valley. See giant Sequoias at the Mariposa Grove. Eat dinner and enjoy the lovely atmosphere at Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp.
The parking lot for Bridalveil Falls is on your right as you head north on Highway 41 into Yosemite Valley. There is a sign. The parking lot is sometimes full but since it's a very short hike, you can wait for a space.
