It's very pleasant to have a drink at Redondo Pier and then walk the circular walk along the oddly-shaped cement pier, past the older shops on the wooden end, and then along the boardwalk to where you started. I love the design of the sails on the pier- they are so gorgeous how they catch the light! And their shape is almost like the opera house in Sydney! Kids will enjoy running along the pier and looking at the patterns of whales, fish, and sting rays in the concrete! The pier is wide, and instead of reaching out to sea like other piers, it curves around joining one side of the development with the other. At the front of the development are some nautical-style office buildings. One houses the local superior court. This may explain why there are so many business people lunching at the restaurants. Kincaid's Restaurant has an attractively-dressed clientele, awesome water views, and good food. It's more a date or business-meeting place than a place to bring the kids. But it's noisy enough so kids will blend in here. You can get a plate with a gourmet half sandwich and salad.

Kids, but not adults!, will enjoy the rowdy Redondo Fun Factory beneath the pier that has over 200 arcade and kiddie rides.
Redondo Beach adjacent to the pier is very pretty, with fine, clean sand- great for a long walk.
A nice walk to do that takes you through a ritzy neighborhood to Redondo Beach is the Knob Hill Avenue Walk. Walk north along Redondo Beach to Hermosa Beach, a really cool beach plaza with cafes, happening bike path scene, beach volleyball, a perfect beach and a clean pretty pier.

Kincaid's Restaurant, and the beginning of the horseshoe-shaped pier.

The Blue Whale designs in the cement on the pier at King Harbor.

Looking back on the beach, Kincaid's Restaurant, and the office buildings, from the pier at King Harbor.

Super-fun for toddlers to run around- the pier at King Harbor.

Colorful benches at the boardwalk which leads, on your circular walk, back to Kincaid's where the walk begins. See the lovely patch of sand below, and the pier in the distance.

Fun place to be. My mom and dad would bring us here to eat and then play in the arcades. Great memories.
