Hidden Valley Park has a special feeling to it. Sometimes it feels spooky, other times beautifully peaceful. Deep in a sunken area in Hidden Valley, at the bottom of a steep path is the playground. This is a great place to come on windy days because it is completely wind-still and sheltered. A steady stream of mommies come with their little ones throughout the day to enjoy the toddler playground, which is low to the ground and safe. There are slides, baby swings, a bouncy zebra, and benches all around. The creek goes by the park and older kids enjoy throwing gum nuts over the fence into the water. The tall trees and the moist feeling in the air make this park a nature-filled place to renew your spirits when your kids are driving you crazy! Come down here and talk to the other moms and leave feeling refreshed!

Another playground to check out is the one at Elings Park where there is also a sunny paved walk along a hilltop and off leash dog trails. Also nearby is Steven's Park, where there is a toddler playground and a hike past meadows to a stream.
If you're hungry, head to La Cumbre Mall and sit outside in the sun enjoying a delicious burger at Hamburger Habit, or drive north on Las Positas to Via Maestra 42, for an out-of-this-world yummy gelato or an Italian sandwich.

There is a new play structure there now that is about half the size of the one pictured. The sand is gone and has been replaced with barkchips surrounding a rubber mat. The only swings there are the toddler/ infant swings. There are lots of tables and BBQ pits. It is still a beautiful location and quiet and a good place for very young kids(1-3yrs).
