Northwood Village is a main street area in the north of West Palm Beach. It is quaint, with some climbing vines and flower pots outside the cafes, but is in a run down area. Northwood Provisions is a cute cafe with striped umbrellas and modern tables outside, with a pretty view of palm trees. It has sandwiches, quiche, avocado toast, and bakery items like lemon bars. French Grill House has a grassy back patio with colorful seating. Sirgae's Wood Fire Pizza has a cute patio and pizza loaded with fresh vegetables and basil leaves. Seasons Thai is another good one, with big arched windows. Mestizo Peruvian is popular too. Restaurants always have to serve delicious food when they are off the main tourist area.

Cafe Centro is a piano bar, with music most weeknights at 6:30pm and Fri/Sat at 8pm, closed Mondays. Planet Chill Northwood is an ice cream shop.
Before or after your meal, walk east to the water and then south along the intracoastal on Flagler Drive, taking in the pretty views and breeze off the water. There are little lookout points and gazebos, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. There are some homeless people. Walk in the daytime only, and bring a friend.
While in the area, check out the Manatee Lagoon (a six minute drive). If it's high tide, the water will be clear and you can see lots of manatees in winter.
