Quicksilver Ranch is the prettiest place! Here amongst greenery and with the backdrop of Solvang's hills is a little farm with miniature horses. You can stop and have a look at the horses. There's almost always some other mothers there bringing their curious toddlers to see the animals too. If you come in June you may be lucky enough to see the baby horses- they are adorable, wobbling along on baby legs close to their mothers. And they have such fluffy-looking manes! It's the cutest sight ever! They come right up to the fence next to you.
After your visit, head down Alamo Pintado Rd to Sunny Fields Park, an amazing medieval-themed playground! Then stop in Solvang for a lovely walk around the Danish buildings past colorful flowerpots (this is great during the week but too crowded on weekends). For other nice farms to visit, check out the Blueberry Farm or Ostrichland in Buellton.
