Glebe Point Rd, Glebe

Sydney, NSW, Australia

Glebe Point Rd offers little shops and cafes in streets lined with Victorian townhouses. Stop for a coffee and pastry at one of the many excellent bakeries. Or at night, enjoy a meal at an ethnic cafe. Then take a stroll along the side streets admiring the Victorian townhouses and their flower-filled gardens. You can walk down to Blackwattle Bay Park or Jubilee Park/Federal Park for a waterfront stroll.
On weekends this area comes alive with residents popping into the little flower and fruit shops, and meeting friends at the cafes. Try Tom-Yum Tum-Gang Thai Takeway at 249 Glebe Point Rd, which has the best Pad Thai I've tasted (for only $10). Ah, I want to eat some right now! Bakers Delight at 341 Glebe Point Rd (which has stores throughout Sydney) has delicious fruit scones and decadent gooey-sweet apple walnut scrolls.
Because of its proximity to Sydney University, hip students hang out in the cafes here.
