Cambridge Neighborhood Playground has a ton of fun stuff to do, making it easy for kids to meet other kids and start a game with them. There's a play structure with a twisty slide, double slides for side-by-side play, a climbey tunnel, stepping stones, and lots of interesting climbing options. Every time I've been to this park, there has been at least one other child there, which makes it a good choice if you are looking for a playmate for your child.

The neighborhood has cookie-cutter houses but they are quaint, with lampposts, white banisters and picket fences, and other pretty details. There are shady trees around the playground and plenty of benches where parents can sit.
From the park, you can take a nice walk to see gopher tortoises. Walk west across the grass and you come to Promenade Way. Follow it until you come to a bridge. Here you see glittery views of a small waterway, plus you feel a lovely cool breeze off the water. On both sides of the road, at the bridge, there are tortoise holes right near the fence on the inside of the fence. Kids love saying hi to the tortoise as he pokes his head out of the hole.
You can also walk the shady forest trails of the Abacoa Greenway
There are no restrooms at this playground. Unfortunately, they frequently apply pesticide on the grass at this playground.
If you're looking for a park with swings, check out nearby New Haven Playground.
The air in Abacoa neighborhoods is more hot and stagnant than at coastal areas because it is three miles inland. If you want more of a breeze, check out parks by the water, such as Ocean Cay Park, Kagan Park, or Loggerhead Park. Even though Indian Creek Park is several miles inland like Abacoa, it gets more of a breeze, maybe because of the pond nearby.
