Lincoln Road Mall, Miami Beach
Lincoln Road Mall is an absolutely gorgeous pedestrian-only street in Miami Beach. The tropical landscaping in this outdoor mall is just magic! Come and stroll along checking out the well-dressed young people. There are sidewalk cafes galore, all under huge colorful shade canopies. As you sit amidst the tropical foliage at a sidewalk cafe you just realize, "Wow, I'm truly in Miami!" This is what you imagined Miami would be like. The architecture is lovely too, with Spanish details as well as some Art Deco buildings. There are large fountains and some areas where the sidewalk is stripey and trendy! Kids like to run around on the large grassy stage. For kids there is a wonderful and unusual candy store called Dylan's Candy Bar. It has an upstairs and downstairs, and candy decorations everywhere, and a very modern feeling. There are even colorful chairs and tables outside where you can rest and enjoy the candy you bought! You can choose all different colors of M&Ms. Or chocolate of all flavors. As with most tourist areas, it's hard to find great food. You just have to enjoy the atmosphere and not pay too much attention to the gourmand in you. This outdoor mall stretches for many blocks, and it's a wonderful way to go for a stroll with your lover.
If you don't want to eat at an expensive touristy cafe, check out Shake Shack, a modern fast food place with picnic tables and umbrellas out front.
After your meal, head over to 21st Street Beach for a blissful swim in the shallow, warm water!

There is public parking at the movie theater on Alton Rd, just north of 16th St on the east side of the road. It costs around $5 an hour.
