Downtown at the Gardens, Palm Bch Gardens
Downtown at the Gardens is a two-level outdoor mall, next to Gardens Mall. It has lots of open space with stark, white decor, mostly tailored to rich shoppers. But kids enjoy the splash pad by the frozen yogurt shop Fro-Yotopia (it opens late at 5pm M-W), and running around the wide open areas. The splash pad shoots up water at varying intervals, surprising kids and leading to hours of fun. Kids also like to jump on the rocks in the big open space by the lake. Couples enjoy a romantic walk around the lake after dinner- there are tropical trees here.
You can walk by the lake in the huge paved open spaces and across a long bridge. This makes a fun addition to your night out if you go to a restaurant at Downtown at the Gardens. At night, the lake and fountains are beautifully lit. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Grimaldi's brick-oven pizza has good food, and you can sit outside, sometimes in a nice strong breeze that keeps the mosquitoes away. Cheesecake Factory has an outdoor seating area right by the lake. Sweetgreen has healthy bowls.
There is a Whole Foods, where you can get a treat or drink if the Fro-Yotopia is closed, and look at their cute toys, soaps, and candles.
The Christmas lights by the lake are cheerful, synchronized with music.
Check out also the shopping center across PGA Blvd called Legacy Place, with Barnes and Noble, Gelato Grotto, Michael's Craft Supplies, and Best Buy.
