At Indian Riverside Park in Jensen Beach is a 1.7 mile loop trail with a wooden boardwalk on the river, popular with local residents. This area is appealing because it has some topography- a few little hills- which you start to crave when you're in Florida. The Tuckahoe Mansion sits high up on a green manicured hill. The path leads to a sailing center and back, past Captain Sewall's house, to the end of a wooden mangrove boardwalk, around a pond with cypress trees and ducks, then down a hill in a winding, pretty shape.
Many residents from the nearby retirement residences walk here in the morning. The wooden waterfront boardwalk is the nicest part- you walk beside leaning cabbage palms looking out on the huge expanse of water that is the Indian River Lagoon. There are little curved white sand beaches on the river.
There is shade for most of the walk. You see kids playing happily in the white sand by the pier at Indian Riverside Park.
To extend your walk, walk south along Sewall's Point Rd, which is shady in the afternoon. It is a two mile walk all the way to Sewall's Point Park! You will pass many pretty houses with landscaping and cute mailboxes.
Indian Riverside Park is located at 1707 NE Indian River Dr, Jensen Beach, Florida 34957.
On Ocean Blvd in Stuart, head toward the coast. You pass over one bridge and then turn left on Sewall's Point Rd. There is a driveway for the park on your right near the top of an incline. There is plenty of parking.
