Sebastopol is a hip little town. Here you'll find lots of earth mamas with long blonde hair and with glowingly-healthy babies in slings on their hips. The mamas and babies are like fresh apples, which is what Sebastopol is famous for, by the way!
The main strip is where Highway 116 and Highway 12 meet. North Main Street is above Highway 12 and South Main Street is below Highway 12. There are plenty of cute stores to roam around. Copperfield Books on North Main is a wonderful bookstore with all kinds of interesting reads laid out where they catch your eye and draw you in. The Kids section is good too. Near Copperfields is East West Cafe, with its many yummy and healthy options. A little south of the main strip, on Main and Willow, find The Grateful Bagel, a low-key little place where you can get a delicious bagel or sandwich with hummus.
Everything feels just right in Sebastopol, except for their traffic problems. The traffic looks worse than it is though- be patient because you won't be stuck for long.
While in Sebastopol, bring your kids to ultra-fun Willard Libby Park- they will have a blast!
If you continue west on Highway 12 and turn right on Bohemian Highway, you can check out the sweetest town, Occidental, which looks like an East Coast town, deep in the forest.
From Highway 101, take Highway 12 west to Sebastopol.
