Walk along the edge of Lake Annecy, past flowers, a playground, a beach with chairs for rent, to a jetty with amazing views. If you start at Jardins de l'Europe in Annecy town, you can walk east along the water to this spot. You will pass happy people dipping their toes in the water and picnicking at Le Paquier, the expansive lawn. Then walk a plane-tree-lined path along the lake. Now you reach Parc Charles Bosson. There are flower beds with mountain views, tall pine trees, swirly metal sculptures, and an archway of vines which is fun for selfies. Daisies dot the grass. Huge trees shade benches on the waterfront. You can see views of the chateau of Annecy across the lake. Three sand volleyball courts make for a fun place to play. Imperial Palace, with its ornate architecture, is behind. A playground for toddlers with a ship with rope ladder, and horse bouncies, is a fun place to stop with your kids. There is a small dock where people jump in the water for a swim. Teens play soccer on the grass. Out in the water is a diving board for fun summer days. A jetty juts out into the blue-green lake, affording breathtaking views of the mountains all around- wow! The water is so vibrant it is hard to describe.
In summer, Le Pop Plage appears, a pop-up beach with a cafe, music, and chairs for rent for a few euros.
Plage de l'Imperial is located at 30 Av. d'Albigny, 74000 Annecy, France. You can walk there in twenty minutes from old town Annecy.
