House of Bread Farmhouse Lane, near the airport. Indoor seating with AC, but no soundproofing. Outdoor seating on the road.
Kortado Bakery, Pismo Beach on Highway 1 near the pier (4pm on Sat/Sun, 1pm on Mon). Indoor seating with AC but noisy refrigerator. Pastries sell out early.
Cafe Andreini, Arroyo Grande Village. Indoor and outdoor seating (busy road).
Mule Bakery, Arroyo Grande Village (closes 2pm on Sun). Outdoor seating only (road noise). Pastries sell out early.
Buttercup Bakery, Morro Bay. Cute outdoor seating area (car noise).

Scout Coffee Cal Poly Campus (Fri-Sun till 3pm), next to the Welcome Center. $12 parking in Structure 131. Closed school holidays. Awesome outdoor seating, and rare indoor seating. Pastries are not good at this location.
Kraken Coffee, Avila Beach boardwalk. Indoor seating upstairs but roaring fan. One table outside with no umbrella.
Steaming Bean, Shell Beach Village, Pismo. Indoor seating (with AC) and back balcony (freeway noise). Food is not good.
Banner Coffee Co, Grover Beach/Arroyo Grande non-descript area. Indoor seating with nice decor but no soundproofing.
Caliwala Bakery, Los Osos town (open Fri-Mon). Adorable, sheltered garden patio seating with birds singing. Whole wheat only pastries.
Amstrdm Coffee House, Atascadero. Picnic tables with shade in morning and views of sunken garden, and cold AC inside on hot days.
OPEN UNTIL 5PM:
High Street Deli, south downtown SLO. Outdoor seating on windy narrow side patio. Cold brew coffee drinks only. Best in the afternoon when it's not so crowded.
High Street Deli, 2nd St, Los Osos town. Outdoor seating (no umbrellas but you need the sun to stay warm anyway). Cold brew coffee drinks only.
Bramble Pie Company, Atascadero. Front patio with morning shade, and cute indoor seating with comfortable chairs and AC on hot days (closed Mon, closes at 3pm on Sun).
OPEN UNTIL 6PM:
Scout Coffee, Garden Street, downtown SLO. Indoor and some outdoor seating. Cute decor. Good pastries.

Field Day Coffee, north downtown SLO. Indoor open-air seating, and attractive side patio.
House of Bread, Marsh Street, south downtown SLO. Outdoor seating but not appealing (freeway exit)- best for takeout. Closes earlier on weekend. Delicious pastries made with butter and less sugar.
Avila Beach Market, Avila Beach boardwalk. Cold drinks from fridge. Indoor open-air seating with views of ocean.
Scout Coffee Morro Bay, Morro Bay Blvd. Attractive indoor seating but no soundproofing. Minimalist outdoor seating that needs heat lamps for cold days and umbrellas for hot days. Good pastries.

Kreuzberg, downtown SLO (plus Wed/Thurs till 10pm, Sat/Sun till midnight). Indoor seating and front patio seating. Sketchy area.
SLO Public Market. Attractive but windy courtyard outside, indoor seating with good AC but metal seats (makes for sore back), upstairs balconies pleasant on sunny afternoons. I recommend Sequel Boba (till 7:30pm, closed Mon), and Neighborhood Acai (till 5pm). The coffee shops (Kitchen and Vine, and Twenty South) close at 2pm.
