It's nice to cool down in the breeze at Rotary Park at Suntree. In the neighborhoods of inland Suntree and Viera the air is more stagnant, but as soon as you get to the intracoastal you feel the breeze. Couples and individuals come to sit in the picnic pavilions to eat lunch or take in nature. There aren't many parks in this area so Rotary Park is important. There is also a huge pavilion which is good for work picnics and has great views. You can walk a boardwalk out into the intracoastal and stand in the gazebo checking out the views of the causeway bridge. There are nice palm trees and grass, and a small playground. The only downside is that the intracoastal water is brown so it's not very inspiring.

After, drive two minutes south to Grills Riverside Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar, to have a drink and enjoy the water views.
Check out Brevard Zoo, eleven minutes inland, which has wonderful playground areas for kids. Also nice is the Brevard Zoo Linear Park where you can go for a long walk on a wooden boardwalk for free.
