Flagler Ave is a cute, walkable street full of cafes, coffee and dessert shops, and gift shops, ending at the sea. There is a Rip Curl surf shop right by the beach, always fun to browse, as well as Quiet Flight surf shop next door.
Flagler Ave ends at Flagler Ave Boardwalk, which is a long blue-tiled pavilion with views of the sea. There are clean public restrooms and showers here, plus many paid parking spots. Check out the oceanfront restaurant with picnic tables and a view, Toni and Joe's Patio. Across the street from the beach, The Crow's Nest Grill has an upstairs balcony with a view of the beach. as does Ocean Breeze Grill.
The beach itself is similar to space coast beaches, with hard-packed sand with some dark streaks. The water is blue-green and rough. They allow cars to drive on the beach, which is off-putting.
Across the bridge from Flagler Ave there are also some coffee shops and bars on N. Causeway, but this is not a very walkable area. There is a fishing pier at the causeway.
Another area with restaurants is 3rd Ave, but it is not cute and walkable like Flagler Ave. It has a cute-looking restaurant called Norwood's Treehouse and a French bakery called Mon Delice.
Another nice place to check out is Riverside Park, with a gorgeous wooden playground, a Greek pavilion full of history, and plenty of people fishing on the river.
