University of North Georgia, Dahlonega

University of North Georgia has a campus in the hilly, sweet town of Dahlonega. Here, several thousand students study on a campus just steps from the main town square, an idyllic location. 800 of the students are part of the Corps of Cadets, a senior military college, one of only six in the US.

The campus is green and pretty, with a mix of modern and historic buildings, including the Price Memorial Building with its gold-leafed steeple, built on the foundation of the former mint.
Students enjoy some nice cafes on the town square, including Picnic Cafe, with soups and sandwiches, and Shenanigans Irish Pub, with outdoor seating. Crimson Moon is a groovy bar with a balcony overlooking the town square.
There are plenty of waterfalls to hike to on the weekend, including Amicalola Falls, and Atlanta is 1 hour and 15 minutes away.
