The sky always looks magnificent in the Las Vegas desert, and the multi-colored red and pink mountains at Red Rock Canyon give you rest after hectic Las Vegas city. There are parking spots throughout the park. You can stop in at the Visitor's Center which is loaded with information and also has a gift/book shop, and then drive the 13-mile loop, stopping to walk when it looks pretty. Take in the majesty around you, and ponder how old these stunning rock formations are. It's amazing there are donkeys and wild tortoises here, just half an hour from The Strip! It is so silent and beautiful after being on The Strip.
Bring a picnic lunch and some water.
There are clean restrooms at the Visitor Center.
