Domenic Massari Park has about ten playgrounds built into one park! Kids will definitely not run out of climbing here! Little houses make for imaginative places to play, as does a blue and red boat kids can climb inside. Views of the sometimes snow-topped San Gabriel mountains make a nice backdrop.
Small trees dot the park creating spots of shade- this is of major importance because it gets HOT here. The sports fields are slightly recessed which creates fun slopes kids can run down along the edge of the fields. This is almost more fun than the playgrounds which are all situated close together in one spot and can feel kind of overwhelming.
The neighborhood where this park is located is a very spread-out area with blocks of barren desert (some with cute Joshua trees) intermingled with blocks of new cookie cutter houses. If you're hungry, there is a modern shopping center nearby where you can eat at El Pollo Loco, get a frozen yogurt at Sweet Frog, or have a coffee at Starbucks. It's a very long drive to this park from the freeway, past dozens of plain-looking blocks of suburban sprawl, so only come if you're already in the neighborhood.
