It's a pleasure to visit the Fowler Museum of Cultural History, on the beautiful UCLA campus. It is a modern museum with attractive exhibits. Your mind will be expanded as you see interesting artifacts from all corners of the globe. There are some almost-scary masks and religious statues and head ornaments. A collection of silver from all over the world is gorgeous, as are the armbands and jewelry from India. There are painted clay vessels from Peru, Indonesian rod puppets with animated faces, elaborately carved posts from Nigeria, ancestral boards from Papua New Guinea, and a ceramic Tree of Life from Mexico. You could spend a few hours in here getting lost in your imagination.
After, walk the UCLA campus taking in its delightful architecture. And then eat at a cafe in Westwood Village, another lovely spot.
Fowler Museum is located on the UCLA campus. UCLA parking lot 3 is conveniently located in the peaceful north end of campus, not far from the Fowler Museum, at 215 Charles E Young Dr N, Los Angeles CA 90095. Parking is $6 for 2 hours, and you pay in a machine in the parking lot.
Entrance is free.
