Sawgrass Mills Mall, Sunrise

Sawgrass Mills Mall is a gigantic mall (this can not even describe the size) with every kind of outlet store you could ever want! Around every corner is another store that you are dying to shop at! It's hard to know where to begin! The choices overwhelm you. I don't even like shopping but I couldn't believe how easy shopping is at this mall because it would be impossible not to find something good to buy here, and with a decent price tag.

Most of the mall is indoors and is loud like all malls. There is also a lovely outdoor section on the Sunrise Blvd side with high-end chain restaurants with outdoor seating. Tall tiled alligator statues of all varieties and colors are on display. This is an elegant part of the mall and a pleasure to stroll around. There is plenty of shade from all the trees. Kids like the fountain.
Another outdoor section is called the Oasis and has more stores plus walkways with shade coverings.
The amount of walking you will do at this mall is huge. I felt I could barely make it back to my car!
A fun thing about this mall is that many of the customers are international. I heard so many languages while walking around. Large tour buses arrive and drop tourists off. There is even a currency exchange, plus there are two stalls selling European candy bars- yum!
For the most delicious Caribbean food and a big patio over the lake, eat at Bahama Breeze Restaurant, on the northern edge of the mall parking lot. Shake Shack has such yummy burgers with cheese melted perfectly over them, plus good chocolate malt shakes to share.
Another wonderful place in this area is Young At Art Children's Museum, one of the most beautiful and creative museums you'll ever enjoy, with tons of imaginative play for kids!

Directions

Exit Florida Turnpike at Hwy 869 South and go another twenty miles or so. Then exit at Sunrise Blvd and head east. The mall will be on your left. After NW 136th Ave, there are many driveways that lead into it.
