Bass Pro Shop, Cary

It's always fun to visit a Bass Pro Shop because of the atmosphere there. Even from the outside, you get a cabin in the woods feel, with the rustic benches and stone columns. As you enter, there is a fireplace with a mounted deer and moose above, and log cabin furniture. Inside, at the back, check out the fish in the impressive aquarium that has rocky ledges with taxidermy animals above it. Throughout the store are more animals, including funny turkeys! 

On special days there is a family activity, with tables set up for kids and their parents. And at Christmastime there is an excellent winter wonderland, with upside-down elves shaking their legs in the snow, an elf that pops out of a window, and all manner of decorations. Santa is there to greet the little ones!
After, visit the North Carolina Museum of Art nearby.
