In early July, come to Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh to walk amid hundreds of sunflowers! There are little paths to make walking through the sunflowers easy. Many families gather to take beautiful portraits with the yellow flowers and the blue sky behind. Don't worry about the many bees because they are very preoccupied with the flowers so you aren't interesting to them! For parking info, see below.
This is a pretty short outing, so lengthen it with a visit to JC Raulston Arboretum, an eleven minute drive northwest.

Directions

Park in the parking lot at 1800 Umstead Dr, Raleigh, which is right by the sunflowers. If it is full, you can try the Williams Parking Lot. Come early in the day to get parking!
Come in the first half of July!
