McKee Corn Maze is a fun weekend activity in the autumn! On a sunny Carolina day, with a cold October breeze blowing orange leaves around, you can check out all the fun activities. Big kids love the tree disc swing. Little kids like the playground and sand pit with tractors for digging. Toddlers adore the cozy coupe cars they can drive with their feet. The whole family can take a hay ride, or the little kids can ride the barrel train. It's fun to check out the chickens, goats, and donkey in the animal area. There are a few bales of hay with pumpkins and scarecrows.
Last but not least, it's a ton of fun to walk around the 12 acre corn maze! It's nice that you can't get desperately lost because you can see where you are based on the scenery around you. You get a card with eight numbers you can punch with different shapes at eight different hole punching stations. Kids love this. Don't be obsessed with getting all eight, but do it for as long as it's fun! The ground is a deep red dirt, the reason this town is called Rougemont.
The drive to and from the farm is part of the pleasure, as you ride past quaint farms, ponds, cows, bales of hay that look like Monet paintings, and autumn trees.
After, have dinner in the town of Hillsborough. You could try Radius Pizza, a 13 minute drive away.
