Blue Hole Spring and the forest that surrounds it is surreal. The scenery elates you! The spring is a round pool with creamy aquamarine water of the most incredible shade. A metal deck with ladder sits on the edge where swimmers can access the water. A run or creek leads out from the spring, and you can look down from a bridge over it to see the funny seagrasses and gorgeous water below. All shades of blues and greens surround you as you take in the scenes. Little stumps of cypress trees, like gnomes, add to the mystical nature of the scenery. These are actually called cypress knees. A green hill dotted with tall trees and some picnic tables leads down to the spring. Paradise! The drive through the forest to the spring is also lovely. Come for a dip after seeing the stalactites and stalagmites in the tour cave at Florida Caverns State Park.
