Flagler Beach is nicer than other northeast Florida beaches. I don't know why but the water is surprisingly blue-green and the sand yellow! There is no hazy look to the sky either. What a paradise! It's lovely to jump into the water on the left side of the pier, safely guarded by a lifeguard shack nearby. Little bouncy waves make for a perfect swim. Bodyboarders can ride the waves to the right of the pier. And fishermen enjoy fishing from the pier (there is no swimming directly below the pier). If you need shade, you can sit in the sand under the pier. It's lovely to watch the water crashing against the pier pilons. What a blissful day at the beach!
There are restrooms on the pier. And restaurants across the street. You can also sit in the shade above the beach under gazebos.
Flagler Beach is a great choice if you're on a road trip because it's only seven minutes from Highway 95.
Flagler Beach is located where Moody Blvd meets the ocean. The address for the fishing pier is 105 S 2nd St, Flagler Beach, FL 32136.
There are diagonal parking spaces along the road on 2nd Street and Central Ave, next to Veterans Park. There are also parking spaces all along Ocean Shore Blvd, the road that runs along the ocean.
