Kalama Valley Playground
Kalama Valley Playground is another of the generic playgrounds that you see all over Oahu- what a shame that the city bought identical play structures for all the parks! This one is nice in that it features both a big kid and a toddler playground as well as a few gymnastics rings. It's a typical Hawaii Kai neighborhood with 1980s style homes, windy weather, and tall mountains all around you.
Nearby, sit on the soft sand and watch the bodyboarders, or explore the tidepools and caves, at Sandy Beach.
The mountains are cute at Kalama Valley Playground. See the main play structure and the toddler structure in the background.
Low mountains, Australian pines, and 1980s houses set the backdrop for the playground and gymnastics rings.
Kalama Valley playground is located at 547 Kealahou St, Honolulu HI 96825. Head east on Kalanianaole Hwy until you reach the suburb of Hawaii Kai. Turn left on Lunalilo Home Rd. Follow it past Kaiser High School and then turn right on Hawaii Kai Dr. Go up over the hill and then down the hill. At the end when you can go no further, turn left on Kealahou St. The park is on your right and you can park along the road.
