The playgrounds on Oahu aren't very exciting because some dumbo ordered the same playground set for every single park! The kids see a new park and run out to check out the playground, but all they find is the same set they have in their own neighborhood!
The neighborhood parks in Hawaii Kai are nice though- there are no homeless people like at the Waikiki parks and the parks are often tucked back in pretty valleys. The mountains that surround you are so high it will put you in awe. Kamiloiki Neighborhood Park (not to be confused with Kamiloiki Community Park) has a great view of Koko Crater and Koko Head. It's a nice place to spend an hour letting your child burn off some steam.
For your GPS use the address 1134 Lunalilo Home Rd, Honolulu HI 96825. Head east on Kalanianaole Hwy towards Hawaii Kai. There is a big intersection at Lunalilo Home Rd. Turn left on Lunalilo Home Rd and follow if way back into the valley. You can park along the road. There are restrooms at this park.

Sad to say, my family owned a house where Kamiloiki park is and we were displaced in the early 1970\'s. I don\'t know too much about who we leased the land from to make way for what Hawai\'i Kai is now. That was about 40 years ago. I was just a baby when we had to relocate. I guess after all these years, I really don\'t have any right to say anything, or do I?
