The North Shore Bike Path, or Ke Ala Pupukea Bike Path, offers a pleasant way to get from beach to beach, either biking, running, or walking. Slightly back from the beach (there is sometimes a neighborhood street between it and the beach), it winds under a jungle canopy of trees offering a delightful ride. Sometimes you can see the blue-green water from the path. In the morning there are many fit people going for a run on this path. The bike path is a great way to get around the surf beaches during competitions when there's traffic. You can bike all the way from Shark's Cove, past Pipeline and Sunset Beach Elementary playground, to past Sunset Beach, 2.4 miles. Sunset Beach is the perfect place to end your ride, with the bike path right beside the sand.
There's another bike path on the west end of the North Shore in Waialua. It runs along Waialua Beach Rd for 1.4 miles in a neighborhood with a lovely tropical feel.
