It's wonderful to sit at Pua'ena (Puaena) Point Beach Park on a hot day, relaxing in the shade of ironwood trees and enjoying the cool breeze! Usually there's nothing to do in the middle of the day because you will be too hot or sunburned, but here you can stay the whole day because of the shade right by the water! Many people gather on picnic blankets, take surf lessons, or snorkel (though the water is a little murky). The views of the mountains along the coast are lovely. After, have a meal at North Shore Marketplace, enjoying its colorful, plantation architecture.
Pua'ena Point Beach Park is located at Kahalewai Pl, Haleiwa, HI 96712. You drive to the end of the road and there is a parking lot. Then, facing the water, walk to your right along a path until you get to the cove.
