Cleo Street Beach is a narrow strip of beach below beach houses, just slightly south of Main Beach Park in the town of Laguna Beach. Here there is a lot of reef and at low tide, there are many tide pools to explore. The mountains that frame Main Beach are pretty in the distance- they are usually green in springtime. People take a happy stroll down this beach from Main Beach, after exploring the main strip of Laguna Beach.
Cute stairs lead down to the beach from Cleo Street, just two blocks back from Highway 1, where there are some cafes such as The Taco Stand and Orange Inn Coffee Shop. You can sit on a white-washed wall with huge smooth pebbles built into it, at the top of the stairs. it's lovely to take in the view of daisies, cactus plants, beach houses, and sea.
If you walk along Highway 1, you will come to Gelato Paradiso in an enchanting alleyway. If you continue exploring Laguna Beach town you will find the loveliest architecture, cafes, coffee shops, and trees of all colors and shapes.
A wonderful place to walk, on cliffs high above the sea, is Heisler Park, a seventeen minute walk from here. It is a pathway with flowers above the rocky coves and Bird Rock Beach, that are north of Main Beach. There is a gazebo and lawn with picnickers.
While in Laguna Beach, don't miss out on seeing the Rapunzel Tower on the rocks at Victoria Beach. Kids love going to Ruby's Diner near there, and you'll love its rooftop patio with views of the ocean!
Cleo Street Beach is at the end of Cleo Street. Parking is difficult. Look for parking along the street. The earlier in the day, the better.
