It's fun to walk the wide 1.4 mile path that goes around the entire lake at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. It takes you past Disney's Riviera Resort, which is much more modern-looking than its other, making for a fun change. The best part are the Skyliner gondolas moving overhead, and watching them come in to the station. Kids really enjoy this!
Start at the Caribbean Beach Resort hotel. Sometimes they let you park there if you have Disney passes and are coming for breakfast or a meal. From the parking at the resort you can walk straight to the path. You pass the pool which is like an old Caribbean fort. It is cute, with a splash pad in the form of a ship with a big bucket that dumps water every so often. You pass nice tropical plants as you walk around the lake. The hotel has the typical Disney look which is boringly uniform across almost all the resorts. It's super fun to watch the Skyliner gondolas come in to the station. Let your kids name the different Disney characters on each gondola. When you get to the north end of the lake you are at Disney's Riviera Resort which has a more modern look than any of the other Disney resorts. It is a breath of fresh air! Although the grey color is kind of wrong, in every other way it does look like the architecture of French Riviera! Stop and have a cup of tea here. Then continue on around the lake. You pass groomed "beaches" but they aren't really very appealing, with a fence blocking off the water. At night, check out the live music at the Caribbean Beach Resort's pool.
These resorts are located near Epcot and also Typhoon Lagoon water park.
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is located at 1114 Cayman Way, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. You are only guaranteed the ability to park there if you are a guest of the resort. But, if you have passes, you can always ask.
You can also catch the Disney Skyliner gondolas from Hollywood Studios or Epcot International Gateway to the resort, if you want to have dinner there after a day at the park.
