Mizner Park is an outdoor mall with pink Mediterranean architecture, upscale shops and restaurants, and Boca Raton Museum of Art. It's fun to stroll around and enjoy the pretty atmosphere. The sidewalk cafes are inviting. And the art museum has some great exhibits! This is not a pedestrian-only area, but the street is narrow and somewhat isolated so it feels that way. My favorite place to eat is at the southern end of the plaza across 2nd Street, at Souvlaki Fresh. You get a gorgeous view of the palm-tree lined mall and the Greek food is top rate! The staff are also really friendly.
Boca Raton Museum of Art is a great choice on a hot day when you need some AC! It is a large, airy museum with big windows, and no musty smell. The temporary exhibits can be amazing- currently in 2022 they have an exhibit of gigantic painted backdrops from movies such as Sound of Music. Gorgeous! Their permanent collection upstairs is not very good, so come when there is a special temporary exhibit.
After the mall, let your kids burn off some steam at the gorgeous Sugar Sand Park with its giant wooden playground and splash pad. It is a nine minute drive inland.
