Fletcher Cove is a pretty spot, especially at sunset. The golden light casts shadows on the lawn over the sea. There is a small playground with a tunnel slide and swings, and basketball courts.
You can sit at picnic tables and take in the views of the coast, in the cold ocean wind. Surfers enjoy the waves, while families tackle on the lawn. Tall palms and steep cliffs frame the scene. The beach park is nicely landscaped, with boulders and a small amphitheater.
Across the street there is a vegetarian cafe called Naked Cafe that serves breakfast and lunch, plus Sindi's Snack Shack.
You can also walk four minutes to North Coast Highway 101 which has restaurants such as Pizza Port and Gelato 101 Solana Beach, a cute place with boba tea and smoothies. One more street back is the Solana Beach Design District, a main street with shops, pottery studios, restaurants and coffee shops such as Peet's Coffee.
Another great beach nearby (13 minutes north) is Moonlight State Beach in Encinitas.
Fletcher Cove Beach Park is located at 106 S. Sierra Ave, Solana Beach CA 92075.
