Pepper Grove Playground is a large, popular playground in the south portion of Balboa Park. The play structures are on sand, plus spongy blue flooring in the middle of the playground and wood chips by the big kid play structure. There are lots of animal statues to climb, which feeds kids' imaginations: lion, hippos, seal, turtle, elephant. There are whale and dinosaur bouncies. A toddler playground, big kid playground, swings, monkey bars with spinning handles, and a large space-age climby make for a fun visit! An abundance of trees, and daisies in the grass make this park feel special. There are plenty of tables with benches around the perimeter of the playground for parents to sit on.
After, walk up Park Blvd to check out the rose garden with its lovely breezes atop a hill.
Pepper Grove Playground is located in the south part of Balboa Park, at 2198 Park Blvd, San Diego CA. You can park along the road. There are also two huge parking lots to the north, at 1940 Space Theater Way.
