Sometimes in the city you are so thirsty for nature, and you can find a little corner of it at Rolling Hills Park. Here you feel like you are in a smaller town. There are tall trees and flower beds. Kids enjoy the expansive, unique playground. There is a spinner to ride with friends, a tire swing, large play structure with bridges, bunny bouncy, toadstool stepping stones, sand digger and pit, adorable wooden play house, picnic table with chess squares, baby swings, regular swings, and party gazebo. There is also a walkway along the edge of the park. You can still hear the city sounds, such as the sound of the freeway, but you can pretend you are in a calmer spot. The mountain view in the distance is nice.
After, have a meal in Poway town, which is a pretty spot. It is an 8 minute drive east.
There is a new shopping area coming to PQ (Rancho Penasquitos) soon called Merge 56, so stay tuned.
Rolling Hills Park is located at 11165 Almazon St, San Diego, CA 92129. There is plenty of parking along the street.
