Riding a cable car is a lot of fun, especially up the near-vertical streets of San Francisco! You can sit inside, or stand on the outside and hold on for dear life! The views of the bay and the famous Transamerica Pyramid are great from the cable car that runs up Powell Street. This ride takes you all the way to Embarcadero and Fisherman's Wharf. Check below for tips on how to ride the cable car without waiting in line at Market and Powell Streets!
Don't stand in the long queue at Powell and Market Streets, or at Embarcadero and Hyde Streets- instead buy a ticket there ($7) and then walk up a block or two further to one of the brown and white signs and just jump on when the cable car passes.
